The speaker's explicit invitation: the ideas behind Pathom (immutability, EDN-like data queries, context-free namespaced identifiers, flat graphs with resolvers) aren't hard and aren't tied to Clojure. Porting them to Ruby would give Ruby developers the same benefits without adopting a new language.
