Comfort Zone

concept 1 connections

The 'comfort box' we build around known projects and routines. Once built, it lets us automate behaviors and focus on what matters (clean code for most programmers). Every business change — new feature, pivot, scrapping an application — breaks the box and triggers an emotional response similar to grief. Scale and time invested matter: a two-year project is a much bigger comfort box than a parking spot, so losing it hurts more.
